A140 sold, S500 sold, R320 sold, 2004 CLK 500 AMG? Not a real one Nissan Leaf for local trips
Does anyone know where I can source a complete Parking Brake mechanism for a 2004 CLK 500?
I have searched on eBay and AUTODOC the previous owner really did a bodge job on it and I can’t trust it to stay engaged.

Which bit ?

All the stuff in the hubs is widely available on line . The pedal part in the footwell ? the splitter ? cables ? I have recently done the whole lot on my 2006 C class which (I believe) is very similar to your set up.

Note . The pedal arrangement in the footwell is rarely the cause of any problems , the small spring might pop off , but thats a ten minute job.

The rest of the parking brake system ? a little more involved , putting it mildly.

The brake applies but the foot pedal has to be lifted manually. It seem that I am too old and inflexible to get my head down there to have a look

OP . If you are not very flexible it's not the job for you, no disrespect ,but you have to be a bit of a contortionist (also having a really good vocabulary of swearwords helps) to get to the brake pedal with the car not lifted . Using an under dash creeper would be the best . Like this lucky bloke is using :)

I have a tame MB specialist I will have to pay him a visit I suspect
If your tame MB specialist is PCS down the A3 in Horndean, he'll be on it like a bonnet.

I only had to change the little spring and that was bad enough. But if you want a true flexibility test try changing the cabin filter on a Saab 9-5. I've read in Saab circles that the original author of the Kama Sutra was inspired by his experience home servicing a 2002 Aero.
