I want to get some serious performance gains and am considering the following mods. Please can you post your real life experiences of these devices:

* Front & Rear - Racing Tow Eyes, with a belt strop attached (preferably in red) to maximise power gains.
* Child's cloth cuddly toy. This will be hanging off the rear tow eye (a small toy to create less drag)
* Lightning Bolt Battery Kill Switch label. I wont be wanting the actual switch (save weight) just the sticker.
* Bonnet Vents fitted to the front bumper (stuck on top with zero actual venting) will consider upturned dustpans
* A set of Seat Belt Pads that slide down to the wearers crotch and offer zero protection.
* Neon Blue windscreen washer jet nozzles (glow in the dark Le-Mans stylee)

My plan is to go for a staggered/phased approach, using grey or red primer to prep the cars body panels for some years before I glue on the body mods.

I am (as yet) undecided, on fitting a vertical large letter racing slogan to the side of the windscreen. I fail to see how only having one sticker can really add performance gains. Surely you need one each side of the screen? Happy to listen to any experience from owners out there.

I have managed to get hold of several single wheels of different manufacture/design. I plan to fit these using some tin dustbins as spacers. The look I want, is to get the car so wide it will require different postcodes for each side. At least one of the wheels will be lost inside the cavernous arch space that I have now created.

Any thoughts please?

One of the cheapest yet overlooked ways to maximise your gains is to add racing stripes which help aerodynamics. The more the better.
I worry that my stripes will join up creating a single colour and destroying any performance advantage?

Painted brake callipers make huge gains, even more if the makers name is on them.

My calipers are not large enough to get any name on them (I actually think I have drum brakes). Can I put stick on caliper covers behind the wheel?

Last week, I fitted a Fire Extinguisher under the front passenger seat on my 124. The difference in handling and performance has been amazing and instant. I now plan to get one of these nobbly bead wooden seat covers to aid cornering.

The cheapest mod is just to turn up the audio volume as far as it will go.

Shopping list on the door. Preferably from manufacturers that don't do parts for that car.

Oh, for the days of HKS and Greddy stickers on a Corsa.

Don't forget a 6" diameter exhaust tail pipe.

Removing the front numberplate is a massive drag reduction. Then you can always slip it between the dash and windscreen to make a wonderful rattling noise. You can also then be chosen to have a chat with your local traffic officer....if you ever find one.

That always looks good.... especially with pop-riveted wheel arch extensions to cover the couple of grand's worth of shiny wide wheels.

Don't forget to put the AMG badge on the left hand side of the boot lid, must be an extra 10hp from having it on the right hand side.

Is this the same as on the AMG cars that have three numbers after their model number? Like the C180 AMG? I recently saw but failed to photograph a car with sticky backed vinyl AMG lettering on the seat backs. Now that did look cool. I have no knowledge of what performance gains that this type of mod generates?
