Hello, I have a 57 plate clc. The dash and stearing wheel have the buttons for the built in hands free but it obviously does'nt have the module fitted. Is it simply a case of getting a module and plugging it in or is it a bit more complicated than that?

Thanks

Hi,
Likelyhood is that if telphone pre wiring was not fitted as an option then it wont work.

For available options you might try commandonline., they may have a solution.

If you don't have a socket in the center arm rest, such as UHI, then you probably won't have telephone pre-wire. If you have Comand Sat Nav with the SD slot above the CD slot then you'll have built in Bluetooth. If you have pre wire then you can use a ViseeO module for BT.
If you have none of the above retro fitting original phone equipment is £££, so you may be better of looking at a Parrot kit. These can be interfaced with the steering wheel controls with the right kit.

There are two retrofit kits for fully integrated phone system (i.e used from head unit screen) that can be fitted (both support bluetooth streaming if you have no CDC, one supports digital iPod connection (replacing CDC), that are very much cheaper that retrofitting the full factory system. A bit more than a Parrot with the steering wheel control interface, but no stick on control box and proper integration with the stereo, phone buttons and instrument cluster display.

Talk to Alfie at Mercedes Retrofit Specialist - Comand.co.uk (sister company to comandonline that does installation too)
