I drove my car and it was driving perfectly. I filled up at morrisons and it started to slow down, stopping twice but again starting without any problems. It then stopped altogether and I was unable to start it.

I called AA and they said that they cannot repair as there were some fault codes they were unable to sort out. Please seebelow.

Engine control - 51Y / Diesel EDC 16C2P2514 - Crankcase ventilation heating element. Error Message : Temperature too high.P2047 - Rail pressure monitoring. Error Message : .P2510 - Boost pressure actuator (PCR). Error Message : Malfunction.P2632 - Boost pressure control. Error Message : .P2637 - Rail pressure monitoring. Error Message : .P2634 - Rail pressure monitoring. Error Message : Tank empty.P2639 - Rail pressure monitoring. Error Message : Tank empty.P2636 - Rail pressure monitoring. Error Message : Tank empty.P2333 - Cruise control. Error Message : .P0500 - Driving speed sensor. Error Message : . Suspect injector pump

Could someone please help what error codes are they and what needs replacement and roughly how much it will cost. As tge local garage are asking me for my arm and a leg.

Its a 2005 e320 CDI W211 model.

Regards

My first thoughts bring to mind that you have a main control relay failed or fuses burnt. Many of the of faults you have posted are on shared circuits which suggests fuses or a wiring fault. Possibly a component on one of the shared circuits has failed taking down the rest--shorted to ground/earth or flat lined the circuits involved

If in doubt get a second opinion.
I bet it will be something simple like a cam /crank sensor! (now I am just guessing from experience ), but a good scan tool will pick it up and a good mechanic with MB experience will trace it within 30 minutes.

As in post two all error codes refer to a fuel problem - petrol instead of diesel?

Well its diesel
The faults are all mostly fuel related including the in tank fuel pump cartridge.
Which suggest something has gone down .

Sorry I wasn't clear I was suggesting the OP put petrol in his diesel car tank by mistake ?

Have you smelled your fuel intake hole?

This sounds like you've stuck petrol in, how much did you put in, a whole tank?

If you only put a tenner or something in then brim with diesel and it will start eventually!

Hi All,

Thanks for replies. I filled it with Diesel and it drove about 16-17 miles in peak district hills Before giving up. Never gave me any problem until now. It stopped 3-4 times and started the first time I tried before it stopped and refused to start.
Will call some mechanic on Monday to see what they say. Thanks and have a good remaining weekend.

Yes putting petrol in the tank will make THAT engine clatter like the rods are about to come out of the side--"a leg out of bed"!
The exhaust will stink--pungent smell!
Good call though!:thumb:
I had one just like it a few weeks back in a 2011 Sprinter .Totally filled up with petrol and the local dealer misdiagnosed it as a new engine needed !:fail
