Odd, I've recently gone the other way and started cleaning my house with detailing spray. Makes a much better job of my banisters than mr sheen....

Silicon products typically can be removed by a dish detergent like Dawn.
Dawn is commonly used in the USA to strip old wax off before a polymer sealant is applied to the paint.

Just found this thread after watching an old science programme I'd saved on Sky - whether Tutankhamun was the subject of a botched mummification and spontaneously combusted due to the linseed oil used for his embalming catching fire.

Couldn't help thinking of the embalmers being given a bollocking and blaming the new-fangled product they'd been told to use!!
 
I used Autoglym SRP on my guitar and it came up a treat.
 
If anyone has tried to use a silicon free wax on cars, they will understand why manufacturers usually add silicone...it's bl00dy hard work.
 
Dazed and confused here - so which should I use on the slk, or should I just continue with Fairy Liquid?

I also squeeze fairies for their liquid. Bring the car up a treat but crushes the life out of the fairies.
