OK I cheated, this isn't a Porsche Boxster thread - rather a general question.

My barber, no hairdresser jokes if you please, has just ordered a new Boxster (March 09 delivery). This will be his fifth (4th new one) on the bounce.

Here's the thing, no matter how much I like a car (I know there will be incremental changes over the years), I don't think I could bring myself to buy the same type of vehicle, I'd get bored, need a change.

Anyone here bought a succession of models, or would entertain the idea?

Mike

Never done that and unlikely too in the future.
Too much metal out there to stick with one model/make.

Does he go to the same holiday destination every year?
Maybe its in the genes...........

I have to agree, I used to have a Boxster 986 (and they are great cars) in 2.7 form and ordered the next generation 987 ( in 3.2 form). I was hopeful of something different but when it was shown to the press I was like "oh, is that it?". I swiftly cancelled the order and bought a 10 year old Passat TDi instead!

I had an ML 270 CDi - swapped it for an ML 350.

I did choose a different colour, though.....

I never buy the same model twice..

Mind you.. I did buy three Kawasaki ZXR400's a couple years back, but stripped them down, made 1 bike perfect, doubled my money and sold the other two off for a little profit. :)

It depends on the type of car I think, Ive had 4 w210 e-class over the year, because the car suits my needs.

Ive got a Boxster at the moment, as nice as it is, once Ive sold it I wont be having another. Even if it was perfect, which it isnt, in terms of 2 seater roadsters there is so much to choose from.

I've only ever bought the same car twice. As flanaia1 says, so many cars, so little time.

Also, how expensive are your hair-dos MikeL, if your hairdresser can aford 4 new Boxsters?!?

I pay £10 for a cut. I don't think my barber wil be getting a new Boxster in this lifetime :)

Errr, £5.00 actually...

I had a 986 3.2s and shortly after a 987 3.4s. The difference was amazing, the newer Boxster made mince meat out of the old one in every way - it was horrible though.

The older car had a great feel to it, the newer one was done up inside with silver bits and Sat Nav - I could have been forgiven for thinking that I was in a BMW!!!

Great cars, but flawed in so many ways. Would I have another, well no but I would have a 993 as a weekend plaything.

Haircut cost should be based on the amount of hair to be cut.

If that were the case, I would get charged about 12p.

Two Range Rovers, and I'd like another but my OH has Multiple Sclerosis though and finds it so difficult to get in and out of one that it isn't an option.

We did spend a day at MB world and I got her to try an A class, the seat height was perfect for her to slide in and out with ease, so when the current mobility car is up, she'll be getting an A class.

I bought a pair of ASDA's finest clippers £5.99 and do it myself so currently mine costing 26p per cut and decreasing everytime I use them.:bannana:

I'm on my second C43 now. Couldn't find a Bimmer or Audi which did the same thing.

Had 2 200SX's in a row before them. What else could I get for the same price at the time with the same RWD price performance?

I have had an Alfasud and Alfasud Sprint (same car underneath). Build quality aside way better than any equivalent cars at the time.
