The oil level is spot on, but suddenly loose the power steering, any ideas as to what is causing it.

I have the same issue, started off with a snapped serpentine belt, twice, belt and reservoir and pump replaced, everything fine for about 15 mins. No trouble codes lead me to thinking SPS valve, spent about four days getting to it and welding up/fabricating two tools, one for each of the two bolts, system has had a complete flush. I am now thinking that the SPS is not getting a signal to turn on from the ECU (PML).

The fluid was completely flushed through, after replacing the original pump, that was ‘notchy’ it would spin fine by hand for nearly a full turn before feeling a couple of clicks,Replaced all the pulleys on the front of the engine, tensioner, idler. No faults on dash unlike when belt snapped, it said “get to a service centre”, that was at 10pm on a Sunday, with a shredded belt, I think not
