Hi all,

I have just received my cylinder head back from having new valve seats/guides ect ..

Before bolting the head back on I wanted to inspect the pre-chamber area which is located under the perforated dome (see pic) any ideas how it comes apart

Cheers,

Unscrew it from the top of the head. You will need a new seal when it goes back in.
A better idea would be to look in via the injector hole with a boroscope.

Ta Dieselman, is that a special tool jobbie?

Poked a cotton bud down the injector hole (btw, great service and price from United Diesel) which came out very sooty, is it worth it or shall I pour cleaner in there blocking the perforated holes?

Aggggghh - just read up on it, that sounds like a real pain to do :(

How big are these chambers? does anyone have a pic?

Ta all,

Found this from the 190D site

I managed to clean the ball of the pre chamber unit without removal, its probably worth doing if you have the injectors out to add fuel atomisation.

Neat injector cleaner would probably do the same trick. Alternatively spray it with carb cleaner before rebuilding.

I tried diesel and petrol but it was really baked on, its difficult to take a clear photo but I managed to clean the around the ball using a dremel with a light wire brush - took a while but they are like a ball bearing's now :D

Blasted out debris with jet wash -
