I am now the very proud owner of a CLK320 Sport and I think its the nuts! it's an absolute pleasure to drive and in fantastic condition I can't stop smiling :)

Nice choice of car! ;)

It's amazing how much difference a nice set of wheels makes to a clk.

It does seem to sit quite high at the front, I would assume it has the same suspension as the later avantgardes?

I'm so pleased it came with the 19" wheels as the standard ones found on most I feel are a bit dull for me. It's the first thing I would of changed as soon as I got one.

I'm not sure what the Avantgarde suspension should be as i'm a total MB noobie but my next plan will be to drop it all the way round so it sits nicely on the rims. Will I need to replace both springs and shocks or just the springs? The suspension is nearly new as it's only got 40k on the clock. I'm also thinking of adding anti roll bars to stiffen it up a bit but that's just an idea.

The only issue with the car is that the ASR/BAS light comes on so i'm hoping that that won't cause me a costly fix.

Nice looking car, I have a set of wheels like that in the garage...

I would replace shocks to if you are going to lower it, anti roll bars I guess AMG ones would be thicker...;)

Next time the light comes on, check to see if your brake lights are working. The switch on the pedal often fails, it's a cheap and easy fix if so.

It MAY just be that those lovely wheel and tyres are the cause of the ABS light - a mismatch between front and rear rolling circumference.

Is it at speed it happens ???? What speed ????????

Was it like that on the test drive - what was said about it by the vendor ??

It will almost certainly be the brake light switch causing the ABS light.

Nice looking car but does look a bit high on those skinny tyres.

The light comes on when ever it feels like it, sometimes after pulling away from stand still other times when just driving along on the motorway. It was doing it on the test drive but I put it down to the electrics just needing resetting because the sunroof also had problems opening where it would move an inch and then stop. I read the manual and it said that if the battery has been disconnected, which it had been replaced, then a reset is sometimes required. I reset the sunroof and that fixed it and I also reset the BAS/ASR light by doing the full lock right then left and that cured it for a while but now its back on quite often. The seller was quite gutted when he had realised that RTFM had helped cure problems he thought where going to be have to be looked at by a MB garage. I thought he was going to pull out of the sale when he said hmmm maybe I should of put it up for more money...
The seller did say that the light issue only began when he put the wheels on but had had the same size ones on previous to them with no problems. Any ideas if it is the size of wheels and a circumference difference what would fix it?
I've tested the brake lights when the light is on and they all work fine.
Even if I have to spend some money getting it 100% i'm not fussed as I got it for a good price and its such a pleasure to drive.

Not sure about the ride height at the front, i guess you think as standard it should sit lower, i've just been out and stuffed me fingers between tyre and the arch and there is about an inch n half gap... good or bad?

There wasn't much competition to be honest :D Looking forward to next month when I drive it to Munich for the beerfestival for a proper road trip via the autobahn. Would just like to get the darn light issue sorted before that though. All in all i've never been so chuffed with a car before its so nice to drive I keep trying to find reasons to go out in it.

Hey, snap! You obviously have great taste, although I see you had to settle for second best with the colour ;)

Thanks for the tyre sizes which seem OK.

Lots of Mercedes have staggered wheel sizes ie. bigger at rear than front.

Whilst you have the same tyre sizes, ARE the wheels the same width.

What are the wheel widths front and back ???????????????

I mean the actual wheels, NOT tyres.
