Quick Quizzy Question

Hi All,

I just purchased a second hand ML 280 Edition 10. Absolutely delighted with the car, it's minted and drives superbly. I'd like to plug my iPod into the aux-in, but there appears to be a lack of ancillary power sockets in the front of the car. The only one I can find is in the pop-out ashtray. Now I'm a bit anal about keeping the interior of the car tidy, and I'd prefer not to have the ashtray extended all the time. Searched high and low and could not find another power outlet in the front of the car. Really? My old trusty (and rusty) ML270 had a secondary socket in the passenger footwell. Nothing I can find on the ML 280.

Am I missing something?

Weirdly enough, it has one in the back passenger area AND one in the boot!! Nothing up front .....

I think some versions may have had one. If you feel the area that would be above the passengers right shin, there appears to be a blank bulge that seems to be designed to take a 12v socket. Retro fit?

Yes, I can see the blanked off bulge. It does look like it *should* have a 12v socket, and it's in around the same place as my old ML270. Why would they not just fit the socket in such a premium motor car?? Bizarre! Guess I'll just have to wire up my own. PITA!!
