good afternoon, I have just taken delivery of a 2007 R Class however the battery is completely dead and isn't responding from a jump start. So is it possible to charge the battery from the jump start points under the bonnet instead of having to remove the passenger seat?

Thank you Danny

I'm confused by your reference to "Jump start points," but yes, there are always charging points under the bonnet to charge the battery without needing to go to the actual battery itself. If you can, get your hands on a battery conditioner, rather than a charger, and give it as long a charge as you can (i.e. hours, rather than minutes), before trying to turn it over.

Is your car the "legendary" R500 from Grimsby, that's been much discussed on this forum?

Before jumping to exciting possibilities, Step One, stick some juice in the battery.
If it don't start after that, follow the usual diagnostic tree from there....
