Radio/Sat Nav unit advice

I purchased a 2020 Vito 114 Bluetec van and the radio/sat nav unit had been removed. No problem, picked one up from a breaker but get the "anti theft activated " message when I turn it on. The MB dealer want 130 + VAT to look at it and won't even guarantee the replacement unit can be coded to my van. Local diagnostic guy also says he cant do it. I have the VIN number of the vehicle it came out of but getting nowhere. Considering just replace it with an aftermarket unit. Any advice much appreciated. Either a good aftermarket option? Or a feasible way to get my van to recognise the replacement. Many Thanks
