Radio Volume

Is the Radio volume fixed? I have the full Harmon Kardon Command system in my CLK and it doesnt seem to get that loud... My earlier CLK Command system was much louder with the same CD's.... It does however rise when the noise around me gets louder i.e motorway speeds....

Does Comand have GAL or SSVA?

Yes, but it's quite subtle. On my 05 CLK500 with COMAND, listening to voice rather than music, accelerating gently from 50 -> 60 mph brings a noticeable increase in volume.
Any other circumstances & I don't notice.

Pass, but it might already be on & you've not noticed.

I think I shall have to test it by grinning and bearing Radio 4 and driving as you describe

I really don't fancy having to talk with an MB Tech whose understanding of STAR is limited to the essentials!
