Experiencing intermittent issues with radio screen after replacing all brake pads, discs and brake pad sensors.

At times the screen does not shut fully.

At times it opens and shuts (not completely).

Removed fuse (26) and put it back again. Worked for a few days and problem started again.

Just wondering if this issue has anything to do with brake replacement especially pad sensors?

Anything else I should be looking at?

Welcome.

There's no obvious connection between the infotainment system and the brakes.

The motorised mechanism that powers the screen often fails.

I am assuming that your car has the COMAND NTG4 system - with the large PCMCIA slot?

You may need to live with it, or get it fixed. Used parts from eBay are OK (if they are in good condition, obviously), but on a general note do not replace the actual COMAND unit - only the motor and/or the screen - because the COMAND unit is coded to the car's VIN and requires more than just a simple swap.

Thanks

Yes the car has a COMMAND NTG4 system with a DVD player.

The screen comes on okay. So will need to look at the motor

Is your battery low? My 204 does something similar when the battery is low but once it's got a decent voltage it behaves itself.

In NTG4 you can monitor the battery and alternator when driving. Ignition key to position 1, press and hold 3 steering wheel buttons (make/answer call, end call and OK) for about 5 seconds and a menu appears in the dash, first item is Vehicle Data, press OK and it shows battery voltage and amps engine off. Start the car and it will show alternator voltage and amps, initially high minus due to the starter motor but quickly becomes +/-14.7V and +ve amps. This display will remain while driving so you can see how much the alternator is putting back into the battery. You can either leave it like that until you switch the engine off (take the key back carefully so you see the engine off volts before you take the key the rest of the way back to remove it) or to return to normal while driving just press the back button on the steering wheel twice.

Thanks
