Hi, my rear battery on my R230 SL is not holding any charge and needs replacing. The Stop/Start function on my car does not work therefore could i get a replacement battery which doesnt have this element ? Many Thanks

They battery is not responsible for controlling Stop /Start. That is primarily a software function.
If Stop /Start has not been working previously it may well be because your battery was starting to fail before before finally giving up.

I must confess that I heartily dislike Stop/Start !

I don't think any R230 had stop/start, thought it only came in with the R231 model?

On reflection I wonder whether the OP is referring to the Keyless(Start/Locking) function, rather than Stop/Start ?

In the interim if your battery needs replacing do go for OEM specification - AGM.
I bought mine from my local excellent "Indy", but they are available at a good price from MB Grangemouth.

My R230 SL500 does not have Stop / Start ( Thank fully ) ....
Richard Hollins is someone i would recommend if you are in York - He had 5 SL's in for various tasks, 6 including mine as my alternator packed in on the way up to York last year!
