Battery Life

I've just took my AGM off my 2018 GLC , previous keeper was a woman doing school runs , I could charge it to 100% and stop start would work ,after 3 days or so , no stop start and charger would charge from 20% . New battery and new capacitor pack fitted , I now have full stop start in all conditions. One thing I did notice was the original mb battery was Exide and not the usual varta brand. Might be a story in that??

Could be. Our 2019 W205 needed a new battery when we got it in 2020 - don't know what brand it was though (replaced under warranty).

OK everyone, I had a diagnostic check carried out and as suspected the main battery needed replacing. This was carried out by a Mercedes Benz Specialist Garage under the banner of Hampshire Service Centre. Total cost of diagnostic and battery replacement was £375, which was a good £200 cheaper than the main dealership!
I trickle charge connecting to the positive terminal found under a sliding cover and a brass stud for the negative earth (as advised by Mercedes). I only use the car for very long journeys twice maybe three times a year, the rest of the time is mainly local runs of 15 round trip. With the colder weather arriving, even though I have a new battery, I’m guessing I should still trickle charge?
Any comment would be welcome.

I would . 👍 so a main dealer was asking £575 for a battery swap and a diagnostic. Wow.

I changed my battery myself , took 20 minutes, £149.
