So it may look like the rear main seal is leaking on my CLS55
My inde says just leave it, they also said they have seen countless failed rear main seals on Mercs across the whole range and ages.
Trouble is, a diff Merc specialist I saw says that the oil is leaking on the crankshaft position sensor, meaning, its a bit of a bugger to start.
We change said sensor, old one was covered in oil, problem still exists with the new sensor - ie, takes 4-5 attempts to start the car and keep it running.
Its fine afterwards.
So, do I just leave things as they are, or, spend a small fortune on getting it done.
Also, has anyone else had a crankshaft position sensor oil up as a result of a leaky rear main seal???
