Hi all. My car went to an indy last year to get some work done, primary reason was to have the oil cooler and seals replaced, (labour cost astronomical), port motors ball joints and a few other things. Anyway, one of the other things was a failed ballast on one xenon headlight. He said my bill was already big and putting it right would be expensive, so he suggested converting to halogen inits, of which I OK'd, at a cost of £250 I believe. Well, the halogens are no good, light is poor, I even tried H7 Osram Nightbreakers and Philips Racing something or other, an improvement but still nowhere near enough light, and the life of them is poor. In a nutshell, I want my xenons back, I still have the headlights, (obviously one still with failed ballast), my question is: would it actually be that expensive to revert? Has anyone else here ever experienced this?

Many thanks in advance for your feedback

Surely the cost will depend on what was done to convert the headlamps? I imagine some coding would be required?

I bought a ballast my W211 for less than £250. They are made by Hella and I found a new one on eBay.

Ok, thanks, need to take a look at what he's done to the wiring to convert to halogen
