Hi ,I believe that I need to replace the relay that controls the electric cooling fans [radiator fans] as the fans keep running on after the engine has cooled down .
I have a 1993 300sl r129 with a w104 engine .
Can anyone tell me where the relay for the fans is located and the cost of the relay.
Thanks
Neville

Hi Grober,
My VIN No is 129 061, it appears that I have to remove the top of the fuse box to get at the relay do you know if this is very difficult
once again thankyou for your prompt and detailed reply
Regards
Neville

First remove the lid held on with clips. You should then see 6 ?? cross head? machine screws that hold on the rear lid and forward "rim/edge " of the front fuse holder box. Then just lift up gently that's all there is to it. Get the bonnet up in the vertical position for easier access. You may wish to try taking off the relay can [ check the part no] and have a look inside. Sometimes the little circuit board [if there is one] develops dry joints/cracks [ bad connections] on the solder where the components are soldered on the board . If you run over the connections with a soldering iron and " remelt" the connections this can often effect a repair. Numerous posts on here about this on similar relays [ fuel pump or OVP]
