Removing aftermarket headlight trim

Hi, I am new to the forum,

I am the lucky owner of a (new to me) 2016 E Class Cabrio. The previous owner had fitted aftermarket chrome headlight trims and some plastic chrome trims behind the door pulls. I think they look a bit naff and I would much prefer the factory look. They are stuck on with what appears to be a 3m type automotive tape as far as I can tell. Can anyone advise the best way to remove them? I was thinking to pry them off the headlamp and then use some soap and water or failing that some isopropranol to remove the adhesive. The ones behind the door pulls seem stuck on pretty well so I am not sure I can really get much purchase on them.

Cheers!

You could try and cut through the tape with dental floss and then remove the residue with WD40 or petrol or Sticky Stuff remover?

Also a hot day, hairdryer etc. Deffo do the headlamps, the door handles maybe hiding scratches from rings.

Thanks guys, I have not come across sticky stuff, I really don't want to damage the paintwork. Hairdryer is a good shout now its gone cold outside.
