my fogs are yellow on 07 w211
I think it’s mostly the bulbs , I have
cleaned the lens but the inside is a bit discoloured, but a change of bulbs might do , what bulb is best to get for figs and are they easy changed.
Sorry I have searched but can’t find previous post.

Just to let you know, and you probably know already, fog lights are usually yellow by design because they cut through fog better, even though instincts tell you otherwise. Now, I have changed mine for 6000k LEDs. Making them totally useless as 'fog' lights, but I find them more aesthetically pleasing!

What bulbs did you use and do they cause an error message.

I've tried a few different sets and always get an error message so will try these thanks

I'm really pleased with them, but can't stress enough to make sure they are installed sympathetically to make sure the transformer can dissipate the heat safely, it does get quite hot! When you think about it, it is designed to create a load of 50W to fool the car into thinking it has a working bulb, and 50W does get warm! The bulb itself generates no heat worth talking about!

As Stephen said, the compensating resistor does get hot, so fix it to a metal surface:

I used these bulbs, as they are very similar to H11 halogen bulb, light source position- and size-wise:

Note: the bulbs themselves have no compensating resistors - I found this combination (i.e. separate resistor) works best for medium (like these) and high power (like say, H7 bulbs for projector headlights) setups.

The "fogs" been on as DRLs for almost five months now - no errors, no flickering, perfect light pattern (so not blinding an oncoming traffic).
