My battery will probably need replacing soon on my 2016 E220 Estate. Should I only replace with an Original Manufacturers one (OME) to avoid problems?

We've recently bought 2 batteries from MB and the price was better than AutoDoc. We do get up to 20% discount so that probably helps.

Good hunting.

It doesn’t have to be a Mercedes battery it they are often competitive. Just call a few local dealers and ask for a price, then ask if they. An offer a discount. It often gets results 👍🏻

Before buying new, have you tried giving it a good charge? So many batteries are replaced prematurely for this reason.

I do recharge it. However is says partially charged after about 4-5 days whereas it used to be a month. I have had the car 6 years and it was three years old when I bought it. I am trying to plan ahead.

Best to purchase from MB my 2012 and 2013 are still using their original batteries.

Got my last off eBay Bosch S5. £153 . Next day delivery. Bosch and varta come out of the same factory. Some say varta make special batteries just for mercedes dealers . ??

Just under 2 yrs ago I had mine replaced on my GLE which I bought new in April 2016. At the time the car had covered about 20k miles.
MB had advised me 18 months earlier, and recommended a new battery. I got it changed before it became a problem as it felt laboured
in the winter. I guess the battery may have still been good but I do low miles and at times, car is not driven for a few days and when it is it was less than a 2 mile round trip with both seat heaters etc on.

I got the best Halfords batter for the car, stop-start and they changed it - it was half the price of MB's quoted 18 months earlier.

I had considered buying on line a Bosch or Varta but I need to watch my back etc

So go for it, just make sure you follow procedure to ensure you retain the operation on windows/etc/etc
