Replacing side lights on CLS

I’ve been trying to remove and replace the front 501 side lights/parking lights on my CLS but can’t seem to get the old ones out. It’s a tight spot so can’t get a good look either. I’ve tried twisting and pulling and still can’t seem to make it budge. Is there a particular trick to removing these? I took it to two shops which sell aftermarket accessories and they usually do fittings as well but they refused to touch my car and said it’s too much headache.

Has anyone else successfully replaced their lights?

I've replaced mine without a problem, it's not stirring up any memories, so must have gone smoothly!

I gave up, after buying some replacement LEDs! Thought I was good with my hands but after a few deep scratches!!!!

Short answer 'don't know', but if the sidelights are the same fitment as the C Class, which they look as though they are, they just push in, pull out. I changed one on my C Class but had to use a pair of long nosed pliers to grip it as it was damn awkward to reach, plus it was tight. Just grip the bulb holder (not the wires) fairly firmly with the pliers and gently twist.

Looks the same as above in the handbook. They usually respond best to being twisted a bit at the same time as pulling.
