I'm expecting quite a wake up call on this one but does anyone know anywhere reputable where I can get my beloved W210 resprayed? Its currently Travertine Beige (or Gold to my eyes), not the worst colour in the world but not far off it.

Ideally Id like to go for a darker colour, saw a new C-Class in sort of a metallic grey this morning and it was gorgeous, but am open to sugestions.

Can anyone help me out, and also give me an idea of how much it would cost?

Thanks.

Depending on the quality of the establishment, you could be talking anywhere from £2K to £4k.

Is it not worth while selling your car and then buying another W210 in the colour you like?

Depends on how stupid I am doesnt it? ;)

I know where you are coming from but I think she's a little beauty and wouldnt want to take the risk in getting another that might not have been treated as good has she has. She's barely done any mileage (just over 45K when I bought her) and I got here for a pretty reasonable price of £10500 (I think thats not bad anyway). Plus she's the Elegance Pack model so I've got loads of Avantgarde stuff in it too.

Plus I had Ian from 124 Works give her the once over and theres so little rust on it that I think I'd be mad to swap her out for a potentially crumbley one.

my 2p

All very valid reasons for respray.

But.

Comes time to part with it EVERY buyer will be 'hmm full respray, how damaged was it ?'. You'll have a car with 'a story'.

I might be completely wrong on this but just think about it.

Now you've got me thinking this could be the worst idea in the world!

Hahaha. Only kidding. I totally agree now I come to think about it. Guess I'll have to sell the car to my missus when the time comes ;)

To do it properly , i mean a proper colour change will be expensive ...

Strip out the engine , all rubbers , all interior , everything...

Otherwise when you peel the door seals back it will still be gold underneath and no one will buy it .....

Witness the Saxo's for sale on Ebay with the ' Candy Apple Gold Red Flip ' paint job , and when you open the bonnet , the engine bay is blue ....

Yup, and to be fair I wouldn't have it done any other way. At the end of the day I couldnt live with myself if I knew it was a different colour under the seals!
