Have you asked Mercedes whether they can added to the car’s spec as a retrofit (ie so that it@/ associated with the CIN)? This is possible in some cases, and avoids over-writing coding during updates. It may not be possible though, but worth asking.Quick update-the car had a hissy fit and all the sensors and adaptive cruise went on the blink. Apple Car Play kept freezing as well. Chucked it into MB on warranty and they also found the engine mount sensors are on the blink so I'm waiting for that part to come and it goes back in. Anyway-they did a full system update and sure enough-no buttons! It's thrown the software out (as it didnt come with the car despite being OEM) so they arent working.
Bugger.
Luckily RJ Automotive being the good guys can either send me the cabling to remotely do it for a small cost or do it for free at their workshop in NW London.
Any excuse for a drive in the car. Bit of a faff and one to consider if the car goes in for a software update.

Least you got to the route of the problem, quick coding to tell the ecu you have the buttons and should be goodQuick update-the car had a hissy fit and all the sensors and adaptive cruise went on the blink. I get what you mean, but I personally do like a little retrofit but within reason. I think the steering wheel is worth it just brings life into the cabin and makes the car feel more specialEasy tiger, I simply asked what the benefit was, I didn’t jump down your throat.
Enjoy your £1200 button, I’m sure it will make all the difference.
HUD is great ! But to retrofit I would give it a missbuttons are useful as you don't have to take your eyes off the road to try and find them on the console. HUD is also great, apart from when I have my sunglasses on as the polarised glasses make hud invisible lol
Needs adding to the cars data card and it’ll remain when / if any other updates take place. I think it needs to be added to VeDOKQuick update-the car had a hissy fit and all the sensors and adaptive cruise went on the blink. Apple Car Play kept freezing as well. I’d pay the 1.2k all day. Just need someone to complete it by doing VeDOK.A forum sponsor quoted £3/£4k and you done elsewhere for £1.2k......
