Hello MBClub members,

I am new here, and this is my second contribution today.

my car came with an Audio 5, and I am considering making the swap very soon; from the old unit to the newly audio 20 ntg 2.5.

So far i have manage to get all the necessay items for this DIY Project.

Audio 20 ntg A1699002000

Quadlock (audio 5 => Audio 20 ntg 2.5)
Bluetooth antenna for NTG 2.5
Y-antenna cable from DIN to Double Fakra
Microphone NTG 2.5
Cover plate for Airco

My question is:
After the successful installation can the radio be used as normal with its bluetooth facility?

OR

Do i have to send the car for it to be Coded and or its Datacard upgraded? If so what should be expected to be done?

I will appreciate your advices,

thanks
Joe

Hello again Members

I've just installed the Audio 20 with bluetooth, and will be placing the microphone along the glove compartment and routing along the pillars and finally to the area where the interior light panel is.

For the rest, everithing is working fine (bluetooth connected to my Nokia phone, radio is ok, all good) except that after half an hour the radio is asking me to run the engine or else it will shutdown after 3 minutes.

is this a coding issue on the radio?

Does anyone experienced the same problem?

and also the audio quality on my voice when calling someone from the unit is not all that CLEAR !!

I need your help , thanks in advance

Sounds like canbus in in the quadloc not connected.
Does it wake up or do you turn it on?
Take it out and cross ref with posts on here with what you have.
You will need the IC coding for it to show tracks etc in there, if you are planning going for the ntg2.5 then it would need doing again as the nav gives the time in the ic and road names.
