Reverse not possible issue.

My E300 Hybrid has 102,000 miles, sometimes like 1 in 5 times it will give me the error “reverse not possible see dealer” either before I start the car or when I’m trying to select Reverse. But when I do start and restart a few times the error goes away, if I reselect reverse it will go into reverse and not prevent me into shifting into reverse. I’d just have to do it twice.

what do you guys think this may be? I’m assuming the gearbox is the 724.2 on these?

I am going to service the gearbox at 120k miles, and I’m not sure of any specifics on what I should do for it, so that this error doesn’t appear.

Sounds like a problem with the electric plate on the gearbox, I believe there's even a technical bulletin for this fault code that tells you to replace it with later version. I'd also be more concerned about the high voltage battery fault code underneath it as its mega money to replace them!
