Hi guys I have the E220d and looking to fit the reversing camera question is this. Is the module already there or is it a complete unit I have to get?
Ta in advance.

Mercedes rarely if ever fit parts or wiring that's not a paid for options.
Speak with the guys at Comand.co.uk based in Lightest, they are the experts and do this sort of thing day in day out.

Comand Online retrofitted an original MB camera to my W204.
It required everything.... camera, new boot handle trim with camera housing, local power feed, and video cable under the carpet all the way to the COMAND unit in the dash.
Nothing was ready or in place.... as WN said, MB won't fit a single wire if it's not part of an option that was ordered with the new car.
Having retro fitted stuff myself on previous motors don't think this is something that I will take on. Back to old fashioned way of using the wing mirrors I reckon lol

I have never owned a car with reversing camera, but had the occasion recently to rent a car for a week with them. I realised that I instantaneously grew lazy enough not to even swivel my head round to double check what I was moving a ton of vehicle in to! I'm an old man, much prefer to rely on my own perspective with old fashioned mirrors...

I agree, and I don't use it instead of looking over shoulder and checking the mirrors, but as additional assistance.
I shows you exactly how close you can get to the car behind you during tight parking manoeuvres (it is more accurate than the parking sensors), and it helps when there are bollards that the parking sensors can't sense (ask me how I know...).
But my other car does not have it and I have no issues with reversing... having been driving for 40 years now , i.e. well before all those newfangled things appeared.
I must be around the same age! My 1st car, a Datsun120Y came as standard with a passenger door mirror as well as a driver one, cutting age at the time as most cars only had them as optional extras LOL

My Grandmother had a 120Y, I looked at buying it from her until my Dad told me to go out in the car with her and observe her driving. I quickly changed my mind despite the speed she could get the thing up to.
