Right indicator light randomly flickering?

Hi guys.

So I have CCTV cameras with alert notifications outside my house, and I was getting ping alerts on my phone which is not uncommon during the day but at 1am this seemed odd. So I checked it and discovered my car's right indicator light was randomly turning on and off. It seemingly is about 20 minute or so gap between each "flicker".

Any ideas what could cause this? I've not touched anything to do with the bulbs or the headlights in anyway way. However, recently I did suffer from an ELS (Electronic locking System) failure and this was repaired via an Emulator instead of the prone to fail mercedes ELS. Though I cannot see why the two would be connected?

Any thoughts?

I'm honestly considering selling this car at this point. It's like one thing after another!

Unplug the alarm sounder, when this self contained , self powered unit goes wonky it can do very odd things to the cars electrical system . it's a fairly common fault on cars of a certain vintage.

The one I unplugged on a 2006 W203 (not my car) 'fixed' the strange fault of the car sometimes flashing all 4 indicators amongst other things.

It's an easy and cheap (free) thing to try before starting on any serious fault finding.

Okay thank you for the tip. After I posted this at 2am , from then until at least sunrise the indicator appears not to have come back on after I unlocked and locked the car so maybe it's "fixed" itself, but I will keep an eye and see what happens. If it really is teh alarm sounder what would be the fix for that as I'd like not to keep it permanently disabled etc? can those be replaced or is it the battery that needs replacing perhaps?

^ If the internal batteries are the problem with the alarm siren, the fix is a new siren.
They are around £120 and an easy DIY fix. Plug and play, not programming required.

If it's really just one indicator and just on the front, this usually shows an issue with the front SAM Module.
