Today Dashcam - MEGA Car Crash Compilation September 2013 Russia - YouTube

Spent most of my Xmas day watching loads of various compilation, yes I am pretty sad!
Dash cam must be compulsory in Russia!!
I thought drivers in China were bad enough, but its nothing compare to Russia!!

They drive way too fast, ignore redlights, doing U turn in the middle of the road, turning into a side road without seemingly looking out for any on-coming traffic!!

Unbelievable!! Glad that this country has far higher driving standard!!

Russia is an awful country,is the worst I've been to,can't imagine someone is going there for Olympics 2014 !! There is a war actually going,not in Moscow tho,but still.

The people there are greedy,rude,driving with no respect for themselves and for others!

The prices like 2-3 times more than here on the same stuff! Dirty,poor,worst roads ever,and traffic jam could take up to 12 hours!

Erm………….? I am not able to comment on this.

However, the video reminded me of our trip to Cyprus (and back) in 2010, passing through, for example, Hungary, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Turkey. You have seen nothing until you try and drive through these countries but Istanbul takes the biscuit. It really does.

There is nothing that makes you feel more alive (and alert) the first time an arctic turns the wrong way onto a dual carriageway up ahead and you are now faced with two of them coming towards you head on.

Queue mirror, indicator and pull over to let a fellow local overtake and take the lead…….well, they do know the language!

Woah, frglwer. Don't hold back, tell us what you think about Russia. A question though: does your email end with @mail.ru ?
 
I work & drive in a former USSR state & the video’s & stories about the driving are not exaggerated. The bad driving is a result of people buying driving licenses, vodka, corruption & the law doesn’t work.
They continually cross red lights, drive down the wrong side of the road & many other things that they accept as normal. If the police stop them they pay the equivalent of 2 pounds, ( that goes into the policeman’s pocket) & off they go to do the same again. If they have friends in the police or government they can do as they like.

I recently hear a 17yr old was given a Subaru Impreza along with a driving license for his birthday, the boy will probably not see his 18th birthday but hopefully he won’t take out too many innocent people with him.

Friday going to work a young woman was lying dead on the road, she had been crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing, a car hit her & didn’t stop.Even if someone got the car reg number there is no database to trace the car or owner.
Next day the police tried to stop a speeding car, that refused to stop, they chased them & at high speed the car went onto the wrong side of the road trying to escape, hit another car head on killing 3 people, the driver survived & was found to be drunk.

Stories like these are almost a daily occurrence.
We complain about UK drivers but in comparison they are angels

Don't get me wrong,its not about hate/love thing,its just the way they are!

There are some nice people out there,but even most of them hate to live there and would love to move somewhere else.

As mention above,UK is paradise on Earth,compare to Russia.

From the onset of her post it sounded fishy so I just googled the name. Then it became clear why there was so much two-faced hate. Paradise here, rubbish there. A person with no ties to a particular country won't feel so strongly about it. I don't think I'm the one who said something nasty here.

If you post on a public forum that a certain country and its inhabitants are awful, then you are bound to offend a large number of people, there is no way around it...

Be it true of flase, I don't see the justification for xenophobic generalisations of this sort on what is otherwise a very friendly forum.
