Hello. I've read quite a few older posts and it sounds like quite a few people reckon 17 in is better than the 18 inch this c350cdi amg sport came on, in terms on reducing harshness a bit. Since it needs new tyres i wondered about buying some 17s on ebay but i am unsure if I need to consider offset? (I've never changed wheels before.) The tyres on it are 255 35 18 on the rear and 225 40 18 on the front. Do i need staggered 17s or will ones with the same tyre width front and rear be ok?
Cheers👍

My S204 came on 16's and I found the ride/drive a bit wallowy, changed to 17's and the ride is still comfortable but it drives better. I have a staggered set-up, 7.5J fronts with 225/45 tyres, 8 (or is it 8.5)J rears with 245/40 tyres - except that I could not find that size all season tyres so fitted 235/45 instead, which works OK.
Have a look on alloywheelsdirect.net for wheel size/specs for your car, ET number is the offset, full spec will read something like 17 x 7.5J ET... 5x120.

Do 17's clear the front brake calipers on a 350 Sport?
Not saying they don't, just something to check.:thumb:
