Since owning my S205 in March the car has been back to the dealer multiple times to resolve Rats eating the wiring!! Joke aside the car is riddled with electrical glitches, so for I have:
- intermittent reverse camera or very slow to display
- Comand unit shutting down on random occasions
- engine management light often coming on when accelerating on the motorway, limp mode then a day or so later the light goes out
- collision mitigation being set off by parked vehicle or those at side junctions, besides the annoying beep the car has been applying the brake nearly causing an accident
- Since Thursday I now have a warning that the traffic assist road sign system is inoperative
- hissing noise from the passenger burmester speaker
On top of all this a few interior issues, some fixed by me other still driving me mad:-
- creaking sun roof (solved for now with dry lube on the seals)
- creaking drivers window, really loud creaking. Open window 5mm to stop it
- rattling rear seat latches, metal on metal creaking noise (solved by putting small cloth over the latch and shutting the seat on it.)
- creaking from drivers side air vent
The car is due back at the dealer a week on Wednesday, not holding my breath for a fix. The amount of updates the car has already had is comparable to buying a new windows laptop..... Now installing update 68 of 8040
For the price I paid for this car I didn't expect to have to fix some of the issues myself - beside having the issues all together. Wish now that I had kept my E Class order rather than switching. I dearly love this car but every day I find myself losing the love for it and have started driving the A Class more to avoid listening to all those unwanted creaks and rattles. If all else fails may have to consider chopping the car an look at an alternate brand.
So is anyone else suffering?
