Hi all

  • I had my rear air springs with Arnott replacements as on cold nights after some hours the back left side would drop considerably with the warning next time 'car too low'. Each morning start up, it'd level itself up and all good until left for 12 hours or such again overnight.

  • So.. Replacement air springs went in all good per arnott instructions (simple, just 2 pages), started car, all levelled out okay and now holding on both corners as required. Good.

  • However every time I start the car it says 'malfunction' with a outline of the car and an arrow pointing up - clearly indicating the self levelling suspension. There are no perceivable issues however since fitment of new air bellows - everything' working.

Any thoughts on why this error is chucking up? It's a 2007 S211 with self levelling on the rear (not full airmatic)

Cheers

When i had mine replaced they said it needed to be "calibrated" - so maybe that's the issue?

Indy or main dealer? What did they do hook it up to star and run a calibration routine?

My place was small local garage whom I trust but they definitely won't have the STAR kit.

Happy to take it to indy for the final 'chapter' of this but just want to know what I'm asking for.

It was an indy (two actually) that did mine, but they were both Merc specialists so would have had Star. Im not sure what the "calibration" actually involved or whether you could do a "reset" or similar without Star. Hopefully there'll be someone on here more knowledgeable who can chip in! If it's working as it should to me it seems more likely to be a software thing.

Thanks Chris

Yep working great, rear arches at same level from wheels both rear sides, gap not too big not too narrow and rides better than it ever has so definitely feels like just a setting/calib thing somewhere.
