S500 Glass's price

I once owned a Jaguar X-Type, circumstance changed and we had to get rid of it after only 9 months.

Dealer told us it was worth £14,000
Glasses guide it was worth around £14,000

I sold it on eBay for £21,000

Don't assume the prices in these books are set in stone.

Be careful, the prices you've quoted are most likely for a W220 S Class which have shed more value since the current shape W221 S Class came out.

A quick check on Glass's reveals:

Mercedes-Benz S-Class (06 on) 1. S500L 4d Auto Change
2. 2006/56 Change
3. Average mileage: 20,000 miles Change

Original Price £73,747
Franchised Dealer £46,640
Independent Dealer £45,750
Private Good £43,975
Private Poor £38,360
Part Exchange £41,310

W221's start at low £30's (possibly mid - high 20's if you're in the trade).

I was about to add that the guides are just that - the real price is what the market dictates. Have a look around other similar cars to get a feel for the prices...

Wish I could get £14K for my X-Type!

Sorry, can see what I did wrong now. As A-AvantGarde The search was for the W220 not the new shape.

Excellent condition: £45000
Average condition: £40250
Below average condition: £35750

Thats more like it.

Would love a W221 at the prices you orignally posted - lets see how long it takes for them to fall a bit more. Mmmmmm, S500 would be very nice...
