hello - does anyone have any experience of fitting one of these? is it a wise money saving option (assuming the thing has some kind of guarantee) or, as a garage told me, like 'wearing someone else's used undies'? my 190D needs a new rad and i'm trying to do it on the cheap...

No point matey, you will be better fitting a non original one from the likes of Euro Car Parts, GSF or your local motor factor.

thanks people, but easier said than done. the £80 one doesn't fit my '89 190D which apparently needs an older, larger model only available from MB themselves, or one other manufacturer (i forget who). I've been quoted £240 just for the rad, hence the search for cheaper alternatives. cheers.

Depending on how bad your old rad is, you can get then re-cored and they look like new.

Now read your other post, forget this one:(

Go to German and Swedish's web site ...

www.gsfcarparts.com and select online shop ....

Select Car make :- Mercedes , Model W201

Keyword search :- Radiator

You will find :-

M17301 - 201: 190D 2.0 601.921 08/83>08/93 -AC - £75.00

Seems to cover your year of car , and model ...

Good luck !

no joy with gsf or europarts

thanks again, am searching desperately online, neither of those companies do this particular radiator, only a smaller version. conflicting views about second hand ones but can't seem to find one of them either! btw sorry i posted this topic twice by accident, it's part of another thread too.

hello again.;) post the part no /description of your radiator-- have you got aircon? ---have you an autotransmission?---- exact year and engine size of your 190d? please you might be able to to use a w124 rad depending on size etc?

Where in the country are you?

I use All Makes Radiator in Nuneaton. 01827 717272

Say Jay from Mercland gave you the number.

So, although the GSF one is for a 190D (83-93) it doesn't fit ?

Perhaps someone has put a bigger radiator in your car on a previous occasion , and the actual one you have is incorrect.
