Satnav audio not working since software update

Hi my satnav audio has stopped since the latest OTA software communication update. Any ideas how to restore it other than visit to dealer ? W167 GLE SUV 2020

My GLB OTA Updates are rarely noticed until they a done and dusted, I have never seen to "Close" Caption or been advised that the software will be activated after the vehicle has been switched off!

I would suggest that a visit to the dealer would be the best route before anything else goes wrong!

It's from the "Mercedes me" app on my phone , it's tells when the software is updated

We had similar communications module updates in 2021 and 2022. There's no obvious link between that and navigation audio output ... I assume you've checked that the volume for that hasn't accidentally been turned right down, and that other audio (radio etc.) is still working OK?

Yes all other audio functions are OK, and I've checked all other possibilities. I'm thinking it might be a corrupt download and it needs to be reinstalled so a visit to Merc dealer

Taking it in this week, also map 2019 V 10.2 is currently installed, it should be 2023 v19 . Sounds like the software update reverted map to older version hence no voice instructions!!

It's bizarre because I thought the communications module was a separate piece of hardware.

Which COMAND system do you have? For NTG 5.5 the latest map is 2023 V25.0 - I just got the download notification about an hour ago!

Yes all options have been checked several times including menu... system.. ."Navigation and Traffic Announcements "

I've never had this issue in 20 years of owning various Mercs, it's not user error

The satnav voice instructions can be muted or turned off completely independent of the radio and media output. If the volume is turned down while the satnav is instructing, it will not affect the radio/media volume, only the satnav.
I have inadvertently done this and then had to wait until satnav was instructing, usually at a junction or roundabout, to increase the volume again.

I've done all this, you can adjust the satnav volume in menu system also , as you move volume on the slider the satnav voice should be heard going up or down but this is silent also.

I can't see how a comms. module update could affect this (let alone install a different map version) but hopefully MB will sort it out for you - keep us posted! Is the car still under warranty?

Waranty expirerd in May , A class had same issue last year, Mercedes issues another software update

The update now uses Google as nav search, big Red G letter for Google on screen when you do a nav search . It was a big change for MBUX 2 but only small one for MBUX 1 vehicles like mine

Update, I reset the MBUX system, all settings lost , and Satnav voice working again . Applied previous settings and all good
