Well it's been a funny old 12 months of Mercedes ownership, got the car last August and after my rear ending in September and the Command/flat battery issues I sort of lost faith in it, but all cleaned up and most of the niggles sorted, my faith was restored. I ditched command for a PC and spent quite some time modding my CLK as most of you have witnessed.

Well it finally goes tomorrow, part ex'd for a luxury barge, I'm afraid the E320CDi just lost out because of dealership indifference. The S8 was just too tempting for the price.

I've met a lot of great people through this forum and I would like to stay lurking in the back ground, even though I won't be a mercedes owner, I would still like to think that I can contribute something to the group.

A special thanks goes to Ray for making the meets so enjoyable and plying me with beer and burgers in my time of need.

I will still be available on the forum for anyone wishing to PC up there merc's. I have a wealth of knowledge on this subject and quite a few spare parts.

So, if I'm allowed I would like to attend the next major meet and will hopefully see you all again.

Good Luck with the S8 Craig . . . I think we'd like some pictures - especially of the mods you do to it !!

Yep good luck with the Audi, :bannana: and please don't become a stranger here :D It's been said before that all MB enthusiasts are welcome whether current owners or not.

I'm sure you'll be marshalled with the BMW/VW Toureg/Crossfire/etc. crew ;) :p

p.s. What with the boot space in the S8 are you going to upgrade to a Cray XMP then? or maybe a rack of blade servers. :p

I have the boot space for a 24 way blade frame, but not the power

Anyway this S8 has sat/nav, TV, phone, DVD changer, CD changer and a playstation (soon to be xbox).

So the boot is pretty chokka. well about an 1/8th full.

Hey Craig, do keep in touch.

If I can attend meets in non mercs I'm sure you'd be most welcome in the S8 . At least its still German .... unlike mine ;)

Actually I wouldnt mind a look at the Audi sometime.

Take care

PS

Soly says Hi to Noosh .

Good luck Craig. Enjoy your new Toy.

If you come to a GTG don't forget to turn right for the Skip area. :D :D

With out a doubt much better build quality and reliabity than MB, Mercedes should be ashamed of themselves with the rubbish they are palming off on consumers, I certainly wont have another one, 6 years old and rusting like a 1970 Austin Allegro, only the other day I was discussing with the wife us getting an Audi next.

More than welcome at any of the GTG's as long as you take everyone for a ride!

hey - enjoy your Audi - they're nice cars too :D and deffo don't be a stanger - you or Noosh :D
