Sbc braking system or not?

Sounds like it was in Park and took up play on the parking pawl

Yes, that is exactly what it felt like but I never take the car out of D unless I'm going to be sat for ages.

I can remember where on my journey home it used to do it (at the time, there were roadworks going on so always traffic jams).

But then again, if no one else had this in their Es or CLSs, I must have imagined it...

And definitely wasn't abs as he knows it was a 2010 and is it not legal after a certain period for abs to be installed?

What do you mean by it not being legal to install ABS after a certain period?

ABS is just an abbreviation for Anti- lock Braking System. SBC has Ant-lock functionality as well as other features and the fitting of ABS has been compulsory for cars sold in the UK since 2004.

I think he meant 'is it not a legal requirement after....for ABS...'

The car will actually roll back (without SBC H applied), if on an incline and the transmission is in C mode. That's because it's is effectively in second gear.

That depends on the slope. At the traffic lights half-way up the Marlow hill out of High Wycombe, an idling M113 E500 estate in C will hold its position without needing any brakes at all.

If the incline is steep enough, C isn't enough to hold the car without rolling back; it happens on Edge Hill in Wimbledon, not on Marlow Hill out of High Wycombe. Cave Canem Amen.

The incline I am thinking of was steeper that the incline of Marlow Hill out of High Wycombe but it's a very short incline up to a roundabout.

I hated that hill in HW with a manual car in the morning when it was busy in the late 90s / early 00s.

I've contacted the owner of my E55 to find out whether they've experienced it!

Unless what I was experiencing was related to the torque converter holding the car as I remember it did hold the car well most of the time.

The bouncing off it (once or twice) doesn't really make sense though.

Hi,I owned W211 E200 kompressor 2004,last month I changed my engine to 2005 model..I never replace engine ECU , My mechanic
advice me to use the old one..so now My SBC Pump shows red warning,"reduced braking power "..I already tried everything, but the fault can't erase...😔now I have to change the SBC...
I just want to ask an opinion...when I bought the 2005 engine..I bought together with ECU and SBC,can I changed the SBC together with ECU..
because the SBC must match with the ECU..
please help me..or can watsapp me +60 0125405252😞🙏

The sbc pump must be coded to the car , so using matching pump and ecu should do it. But you might find everything else may need coding in ??

Current owner of my previous AMG has the same experience as I had although he thinks it is brakes as it feels more a stronger grip on the car.

So maybe it's some kind of early hill start assist... :dk:

Did anyone know's,what I have to do if the code shows, C21CF control unit A7/3n1SBC control unit internal fault🤔

How should i know the car fitted with sbc brake system or not?
Welcome.

What model of car in particular are you asking about?

How should i know the car fitted with sbc brake system or not?

If you do not have a vacuum servo unit, you have SBC (or non-power-assisted brakes...); if you do have a vacuum servo unit, you do not have SBC.

You will have one of these units under the bonnet. On a right hand drive car it is on the drivers side close to the bulkhead.
Fitted on W211 cars from 2002 to early 2006 pre facelift. There will also be an auxiliary battery under the pollen filter if you have SBC braking.

So non sbc car can see the brake booster near the master pump
