Hi guys, im hoping to get the attention of someone that knows a bit about the sensors and ecu parts of a car?
Mines a 1973 280ce and Ive been battling this problem where the car starts but wont tick over or run, Ive gotten with a few ideas, so much so ive changed the lines, pump, and filter recently, along with the regulator previously, but still does the same. When really listening to it today, ive decided it seems much more of a cut off then a lack of pressure...maybe??
when i clamp the return fuel pipe she starts, revs and ticks over no problems but when the lines are all intact she doesn't. And i really think its more of sudden desicion to stop, then a 'conk' out...for lack of better words.
Im wondering if when i clamp the return fuel pipe it maybe missing the sensor out? (i calmped it just after the pressure regulator) Does anyone know what sensors may affect this like this and if so where they are?
I looked at the mass air pressure sensor and its nice and clean inside, but i noticed it has notches on the bolt holes either side for adjustment? should i leave this be or mark it and try it in different positions?
i also found the sensor for intake manifold pressure but dont really want to fiddle too much, next to that though is a container with a black cap, screwed on with a wingnut, inside it has oil of some sort, this appears to be at the minumum but what is it and what oil should i top up with? if its oil at all? Any ideas would be great, thanks for reading this essay! got on a bit of a roll! thanks in advance for any input!
