When selling a used Merc privately, how would you feel about sharing the car’s service history online to potential buyers via email?
Might sound a silly question but there are so many possible scams and people trying their luck etc. nowadays that it’s hard to know what is reasonable for a buyer to know and see online, and what is too much or being cheeky.
For example, if somebody were to request all of the service records for an 8 year period to be sent to their email address, is this reasonable? Or is it more fair to provide something like a general image of all of the documents laid out and then invite them for a viewing where they can inspect the documents and the car in person?
Just wanted a second opinion on this. I know that if I was buying a car from a dealer and I asked for the car’s service history to be sent to me to look at before coming to see it, they would probably be a bit funny with me about it, especially if it was a car that has 8 years of service records.
Thank you all!
