SL 500 2002. Suspension gaitors

Notice that two of the shock absorber dust covers (gaiters) are split but according to MB they are not sold separately. Does anyone know of a 3rd party solution. I know it is not critical but I don't like the thought of the suspension / shock absorber struts getting road dirt on them.

Got the same issue with CL and I was looking around for something to maybe modify and came across this but haven't had chance to look at it yet to see if it's a workaround.

Thanks for that, I will but I notice that the part you found is OEM so I suspect that there is nothing. Very annoying as it would help prolong the like of the suspension unit!

The part in the link above is for cars without ABC so no good for a CL (nor for an SL I think).

Many people have looked for a solution to this but not found one other than a whole new strut. MB really take the p*ss sometimes.

The ebay part I found was the only thing even remotely like something that someone may be able to mod that might fit, but who knows....

Agree Lexman8 re MB, but I'll bet Arnott Industries don't sell a replacement gaitor for their strut either

What model is this, R129 or R230. If for the R129 front struts (springs) then you can get the gaiters from the dealer.
