Hello folks.

This is my 1st Mercedes and I have wanted one for many years and the opportunity came in late July to purchase the colour and spec I wanted and I jumped at the chance.

So here is my 2002 SL 500. I bought it knowing that it needed some TLC and ended up giving it more than I bargained for in the form of a full respray from bumper to bumper which was money well spent. To finish it off I fitted Lowering Links and a set of 20" Veemann Wheels.

I think it turned out well...

Hi, The Black interior is the best i my opinion aesthetically also low maintenance. That silver with a tinge of blue is beautiful. A gorgeous car. Well wear.

Your right, it did turn out well, that's lovely. 😎🙂👍

Thanks. The interior is nice and I wanted the dark. 2 of my other cars are cream and as much as they are lovely to look at, they are a pain to keep clean.

Appreciate that 👍

Absolutely stunning! Mine is a 2003, and i too am thinking about giving the paint a good refresh as there are a couple of 'spiders' in three areas on the bodywork, Mine is the Obsidan black, with the black interior. Like you i was after a specific colour inside and out.

looking at yours i am definitely going to badger my spray mates!

Great looking car and i really like that particular colour choice

Thank you.

I wasn't sure about the colour when I purchased it at the start, but now I am completely sold on it. I was also the same about the wheels until I fitted them and then it just all meshed together well. I tried Silver Wheels on it and they just looked wrong in comparison to the Satin Grey.

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on finding the car that you wanted. Enjoy.

Thank you and I hope to enjoy it for years to come.

Another beautiful looking car! When i first saw one of these in the early 2000's i was hooked - Took me a long time to grow a pair and actually go and find one, And i am so glad i did as i love it!
So we just need a white one and a red one and we have the full monty! Or were there other stock colours around that i haven't seen yet!

It looks a lovly car i do like those wheels i picked this up in june ish

This was the other colour I would have went for. It looks stunning when they are as clean as yours.

I hate new cars and refuse to buy one, so i'll keep collecting older wagons and enjoying them for as long as I can.

I agree with you ref new cars the wheel's are the only thing that puts it down but im very fusy with my cars so they will be sent away over the winter and a service on the ABC system tbh my dad drives it more than me im usually in the c63 and the SL gets quite a good reception at the shows etc alot of car 🙂

OP’s car is super, but I’m another who’s always admired your vehicles colour combination. It looks stunning and the original wheels for me are part of it‘s attraction. 😎

Yes there staying on they just have a bit of lacquer peel and piting on the rears

Look

Came across this one in a local dealership.
It's for sale and they're asking 100K pounds for it.

Why you ask?

It's a 2004 SL55 AMG with 7 miles on the clock. Never used, never titled, never registered.
Up for sale from brand new.

Lovely car, hope to see you at some of the local meets, probably Spring time now

Loving the big rangey sitting in the background...what is it?

If it's like most Range rover it's a money pit 🤣
