After selling my 1995 CE320 a few months ago, I am now kicking myself for being a fool and leaving MB ownership. By chance I have been offered privately a one owner 2003 SL350 with 28,500 miles on the clock (it has every gizmo imaginable including built in TV, Satnav, phone etc)
The seller wants £20k for it but I think it's a bit high even though it's obviously been well looked after and 'cherished'.
Is a change as good as a rest? Will I be shocked by a newer car's quality having grown used to the W124 levels of 'rightness'?

You will miss the speed, as it will be slower than what you are used to.

Not much more power, and has to haul a very heavy car around.

Do a 'bhp/ton' comparison and you will see.

For that year mileage and spec especially if its got fsh its good for £20k.

Get a 500. Much better than a 350 and fuel economy not much difference.

the big consolation in having the 350 is that as standard it uses normal suspension as opposed to the hydraulic suspension found on the 500.

You should determine whether any example is hydraulic, as offered as an option.

The hydraulic is nothing but trouble with leaks, and the cost to fix is big.
