Sl500
My pride and joy 2002 SL500 was stuck in park but I have managed to get it into neutral.
I have bought the replacement part in metal but need advice on weather a decent independent garage could fit the part or do I need to pay extortionate Mercedes garage rates?

A Mercedes Independent will be able to do the job easily enough. You don't need a main dealer receptionist, marketing team, and free coffee/wifi lounge to handle this.

Remember these gearboxes are standard across several models.

if you tell us where you are, roughly, folks will be able to recommend proven garages.
