What does the SL55 really gain from this mod?? What are the power/torque gains just from a re-map on it's own??

Not had mine done yet, but i will be fitting new stainless manifolds, sports cats, X pipe and a smaller supercharger pulley, then i will need a remap.
I will get it on a rolling road before and after just to see how much extra i get and see if the time and money was worth it :dk:

About 40 BHP from just a remap, similar figure for torque (Nm).

Do you actually feel the difference/benefit of an additional 40BHP/Torque over the stock power?? That is less than 10% increase over the car's already 700Nm torque!?

I guess so. A member on here with a remap and exhaust manifolds but standard s/c pulley has got 563 BHP and feels it's definitely different to standard car.

Forgetting the power increase, the other major benefit for the map upgrade is the smoothing out of the power band around pre and post SC engagement, so just having the map upgrade will make a big difference to how the car drives.

And if you use Eurocharged if you upgrade to a pulley at a later stage they will tweak your map for free.

An additional important point to add...for safe mapping you need to check the AFR (Air/fuel ratio) to ensure the engine is not running too rich post map, most dynos will provide this data...

IMHO having a map without post check is dangerous, critical really as running rich could cause engine issues long term, I know MSL and most recommended dynos provide this data...

Or Italy :bannana:

That's exactly where I really enjoy the car, actually Sicily.
