SLK 200, Fan

I am living in South Africa and recently purchased a low mileage SLK 200 R171 2006. Its superb and in excellent condition but is heavy on fuel around town about 19 mpg and the open road about 28 mpg. Could an experienced owner please confirm if this is about normal.

I think the official figures are 25-36mpg. There could be a number of factors affecting consumptions levels from heavy right foot (no offence meant), air conditioning likely running most of the time in SA, needing a service/air filter change, tyre type/pressures etc etc BUT many find the official figures optimistic at best. Our r172 never got anywhere near its official figures because we drove it for fun in S mode mostly.
