The trouble is I think, these cars are generally seen by the trade as an SLK320 with just a body kit and I think this generally pushed the prices down to a low level! I also think consequently there are a lot of unloved ones out there and with the rust issues not many are still on factory paint!
This tends to push them into the unloved pile but remember at the time of launch this was AMG and Mercedes's fastest roadster!
Again for those that go on 0-60 times, totally irrelevant I know I think an American magazine with warm tyres published a time of 4.6 seconds seconds which is believable as there's a lot of torque and if I remember correctly one as low as 4.3! Still an achievement today! Although how long the small 185 diff will last for is another story!
The body kit was also unique to just this SLK as well as the seats so a fairly special little car in its own little way!
I wonder how many out there are under 25k miles, full MB history and original paint? Or even how many are still left from the original 263 (254 in some publications)?
I think 15k is probably testing the market as things seem to be a little wonky everywhere but I'd say still a great car dwindling in numbers with sub 25k miles and original paint panels at £12500!
Just my thoughts as a biased owner
