Hi there, you have probably been asked this before but here goes... I have a noise coming from the clutch (I think) on the supercharger when it kicks in at about 1500rpm. There is no loss of power only the noise which sounds a bit like whirring.

Have searched around and the general opinion is that its the bearing in the clutch.

Is this something I can leave or does it need to be repaired as some comments say leave it if there is no lack of power as the supercharger is working ok.

Thanks in advance.

If it has the same engine as mine, perfectly normal.

Yes it is the bearings but depends how loud the noise is, they all make a noise as routine but sometimes it gets excessive and the bearings fail, bearing can be done separate and you will hear it really scream before it fails.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will monitor it as I have only just purchased the car. My brother-in-law has the same car so I will see if he has a similar problem.

After searching further I believe it's the clutch making the noise. I believe its an 8mm bolt holding this to the pulley. If I remove this is there anything I can do to stop the whirring. Can it be lubricated (as it sounds dry) or a repair kit for it.
