Car
SLK55 (R172) 62.
My other half currently potters about in a BMW 330ci but is now talking about coming 'in house' to Mercedes and getting an SLK55 :)

Has anyone recent experience of the car - any tales of woe etc ?

All comments appreciated :)

Brilliant brilliant car and so very fast too.

I do have a soft spot for them even though they are a little girly.

Thanks for that Olly - should have talked to you about it yesterday :) And many thanks for yesterday - great service as always :) I will give you a call in the next couple of days re the other matter we talked about :)

Thats ok. Did you notice a difference?

As you have seen me work can I watch you?:thumb::D;)

Test drive the SLK55. It will keep up with your 211....

Good choice of car, might suggest an SL55 but £ for £ the SLK will be newer/better condition.

Incredible car.

for such a compact car, its one of the only times you feel so in touch with the car.. its more mechanical, and i have more faith in it than other models.

interior is an even nice place to be in my opinion than the sl, sure its not all luxury, but has the perfect balance of rawness to it..

looks good, feels good, goes very good!

i was driven in one once the guy gave 1/4 of mile head start for an M£ bmw floored it beat the bmw to the round about even after giving it a head start turned round the round about and pass the bmw m3 and still has not reached the round about, it felt as if i was going to eject from the passenger side gr8 little dynamite

Would love to have a go an SL or SLK especially with the big V8. I have been in most other models but not those.

They are like go Karts to drive... a bit too light for road use IMO...

But then Olly is a karting campion!

A very civilised progressive drive compared to my SLK32AMG. Better or more predictable handling and steering under load than its for runner. Hit the loud pedal hard, it does everything you’d expect of it to do. Docile around town, easy to drive.
Would I have one??? I’ve still got my 32 which speaks volumes. I guess in my ideal garage, I would just have the SLK55 as well. :)
