are at Canary Wharf Motoexpo. The SLR is actually in the MB Canary Wharf showroom itself. The Maybach 62 (hideous) is in one of the air conditioned concourses facing the Roll Royce Phantom (beautiful -- James May from Top Gear was there having his picture taken this afternoon).

Also at the Motoexpo is the facelift C class sport coupe and the new SLK. And the Smart Roadster Brabus. Plus the Aston Martin DB 9 and the DB 9 Volante. Porsche Carrera GT as well. And of course Ferraris et al.

And all FREE!!!!

I'm up there after work tomorrow I think - really looking forward to the viewing!

The Maybach is one of the most amazing road cars I have seen. It is precisely how cars were once made. If you dont believe me then go to a car museum.

It may be fabulously well made, but it is still pig ugly

You say this and then you say that the Roll Royce Phantom is beautiful!!!

IMHO the Rolls is pig ugly and an insult to Rollers of old but then what do you expect from BMW look at some of there new cars and it all makes sense.

I am with you Miro, the Maybach is amazing but I suppose each to there own.

I have never understood the appeal of a car with a George Forman grill on the front (the Rolls) at least the Maybach looks Merc'y

I think that both the Rolls and the Maybach achieve the things that most people would buy them for:

Comfortable and roomy a to b
Be seen in something a little different and obviously expensive

I always thought that BMW got their inspiration from watching the old Thunderbirds TV series when designing their idea of a Rolls-Royce.

The Bentley "Griller" is worse. Terrible design IMO.

Close up the detailing on the Bently grill looks stunning IMHO.

Went down to the Canary Wharf Expo yesterday, the collection of cars was great, in some respects better than the Motorshow in Birmingham...plus it was FREE.
